The Xiaomi Home Assistant is a revolutionary smart home device that integrates various functionalities to provide users with a seamless and convenient experience. One of its key features is temperature control, which allows users to adjust the temperature of their air conditioners remotely. However, a recent issue has been reported where the Xiaomi air conditioner socket only displays the target temperature, without showing the current environmental temperature. This limitation can cause problems in certain scenarios, such as when using HomeKit, where the display may not accurately reflect the current temperature. To address this issue, it is suggested that the Xiaomi Home Assistant plugin provide a feature similar to the bind_sensor parameter in xiaomi-miot, which allows users to bind a temperature and humidity sensor to the plugin. This would enable the display of the current environmental temperature, providing users with a more accurate and comprehensive temperature control experience. The expected outcome of this enhancement would be the display of the environmental temperature, allowing users to better manage their air conditioner settings. With the current version of Home Assistant Core being 2024.12.4 and the Xiaomi Home Integration version being v0.1.3, it is hoped that this feature will be implemented in future updates to improve the overall user experience. By providing this functionality, the Xiaomi Home Assistant can further solidify its position as a leading smart home device, offering users a more intuitive and user-friendly interface for controlling their air conditioners and other smart devices.
